Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK): Mid-Hudson Chapter-

Known for years as a great hiking club, the ADK is fast becoming popular with paddlers as well.  The Mid-Hudson chapter covers Orange, Dutchess, Putnam and other counties along the Hudson River.  Many trips are open to non-members (we ask you to join after 2 trips).  Members enjoy special trips and skill-building sessions.  Each year the Mid-Hudson ADK hosts a Paddlefest as one of its signature events.

Appalachina Mountain Club (AMC): New York-New Jersey Chapter-

We are not just a hiking club! The AMC has been a leading paddling club in the New York metropolitan area since the 1930’s. The AMC runs trips on gentle scenic rivers, wild whitewater, touring trips and sea kayaking. We offer low-cost instruction and paddling trips from 1 – 7 days in length. You do not need to be a member to paddle with us, nor do you need to have a boat - we own 55 canoes and kayaks which we “rent” to participants on our trips for a nominal fee. See our complete activity schedule at http://amc-ny.org/recreational-activities/canoe/schedule/.

To get more information or to join, you can email: CanoeMentors@amc-ny.org or KayakMentors@amc-ny.org.

Cold Spring Kayak Club

The Cold Spring Kayak Club was founded in May 2000 by Joanne Salvo to bring paddling companions together and to promote the sport of kayaking. We aim to communicate the vast network of happenings on the Hudson River as well as support the low-impact recreational use of the Hudson Valley Waterways.
